I-73/74/75 Route: West Virginia
The I-73 Corridor plays a critical role in West Virginia, offering communities in the southern part of the state new opportunities for growth and safer travel. Once complete, the route will provide improved access to national markets and major interstate systems, ensuring that rural counties can better connect with regional hubs in Ohio, Virginia, and beyond.
The corridor would directly serve McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne, and Wyoming counties, linking communities that currently lack direct interstate access to broader economic opportunities.
Route Status
I-73 will provide much-needed interstate access in West Virginia, opening up economic development opportunities that do not currently exist. Currently, I-73 is an important road project for the West Virginia Department of Transportation, but it is not yet fully funded.
